On June 28th,2023, Guangxi University held the graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony for the 6,005 undergraduate students of 2023. Wang Naixue (Vice Chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Secretary of the CPC Guangxi University Committee), Li Jibing (Liaison officer of the Party Building of the Ministry of Education), Han Linhai (Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangxi University Committee, President of Guangxi University ), Lv Yi (Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of CPC Guangxi University Committee), Ma Shaojian, Fan Zuojun，Liu Xiang, Tian Lihui, Xiao Jianzhuang (all Vice Presidents), Ning Xuchu (Chief Accountant), Zhao Shuangliang (Assistant Principal, Vice Provost, Director of the Development Planning Division), members of the University Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, teacher representatives, Alumni representatives and graduate representatives attended the ceremony. Feng Jiaxun (Vice President and Provost) presided over the ceremony.
Amidst the resounding of the national anthem, the curtain was raised on the 2023 Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony and Degree Awarding Ceremony. Han Linhai delivered a speech titled "Persevering through Challenges, Crossing Mountains and Seas". He extended warm congratulations to all graduating students and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the parents who have diligently nurtured their children, the teachers who have wholeheartedly educated the students, and the relatives and friends who have cared for and supported the students. He praised the outstanding young individuals who have joined the Communist Party of China, pursued further education, been selected for the Graduate Teaching Corps, become targeted talent recruits, and received honors such as the President's Scholarship, Outstanding Graduate, "China's College Student Self-improvement Star," "Baogang Outstanding Student Award," and being“the first donor of post-2000 generation of hematopoietic stem cells”in Guangxi.
Youth gallops with dreams, striving to make the most of their prime years. Han Linhai expressed four expectations to the students. He hoped that they would embrace a resolute spirit to serve their motherland, combining diligent dedication in their respective professional fields with a visionary mindset that aligns with the destiny of their nation. He encouraged them to integrate their personal endeavors into the broader context of national development and the advancement of the times. He urged them to aspire to great ambitions within the global landscape of major changes unseen in a century and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Han Linhai called upon the students to demonstrate youth's sense of responsibility and strive to realize their own life values. They should cultivate an attitude deeply rooted at people’s level, striving for excellence with a spirit of continuous improvement. By doing every ordinary task well, they can strengthen their determination, accumulate experience, elevate their mindset, and achieve significant accomplishments. They should cultivate a strong sense of responsibility and develop a lifelong learning habit. They should maintain a passion for learning and exploring the unknown, continuously filling knowledge gaps, addressing areas of inexperience, and strengthening their abilities. By honing their skills and accumulating confidence, they can effectively shoulder the historical mission bestowed upon them by the new era, relying on genuine talent and solid education. They should cultivate a calm and composed demeanor in the face of changes, remaining unaffected by external circumstances. They should focus wholeheartedly on their tasks, exerting continuous effort day by day, persevering over the long term. While staying true to their original aspirations and pursuing their endeavors, they should be able to withstand loneliness and resist temptations. With a composed and detached mindset, they should persistently move towards their goals with steady determination.
At the end , Han Linhai emphasized that youth coincides with a prosperous era, and it is the perfect time for hard-working. He hoped that students would uphold the quality of determination, kindness, confidence, and tranquility. They should inherit and promote the spirit of "diligence and sincerity" as the university motto and the spirit of "innovation, excellence, and leadership" as the spirit of Guangxi University's "Double First-Class" initiative. In the new era and the new stage of their life, they should unleash their ambitions and become the dream pursuers of great ideals, as well as the driving force for great causes. He expressed that regardless of where they are, their alma mater will always be their spiritual home, always supporting and caring for them.
