The 22nd National College Athletics Championships took place in Nanping, Fujian Province from July 15 to 20. GXU track and field team led by team manager Liu Zhongqing and coaches Huang Mei and Huang Zunbing achieved outstanding results.

At the group stages, the women’s 4×400 meter relay team composed of Gu Qianming, Liu Ziling, Miao Kexi and Xia Shanshan secured fourth place, Wang Junjie earned fifth place in the men’s 200 meters, the men’s 4×100 meter relay team featuring Qin Haoxiang, Wang Junjie, Chen Wenlin and Zeng Yuanyou finished sixth, and the women’s 4×100 meter relay team consisting of Zhu Fanchi, Gu Qianming, Miao Kexi and Xia Shanshan achieved eighth place.

In the group matches, Wang Junjie recorded an impressive time of 20.96 seconds in the men’s 200-meter preliminaries, meeting the national elite athlete standard and setting a new record for GXU students and surpassing the Guangxi adult record of 21.02 seconds, and Zeng Yuanyou clocked a time of 10.46 seconds in the men’s 100 meters, meeting the national elite athlete standard and setting a new record for GXU students.

The event, organized by the Students’ Sports Federation of China, the Chinese Athletic Association, and the Municipal Government of Nanping, saw participation of 5,285 athletes representing 438 colleges and universities nationwide.
