From November 23^rd to 25^th, the second World Forestry Conference was held in Nanning with the theme of “Green Forest Industry, Bright Cooperation Future – Innovation-Driven High-Quality Development of the Forestry and Industry”. At the same time, the World Forest Products and Wood Products Exhibition was held, with representatives from 26 countries including China, Germany, Canada, and Russia in attendance. More than 1000 participating units and more than 20000 scientific and technological products were exhibited. Liu Ning, Secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, Lan Tianli, Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guan Zhiou, Director of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, Jiang Jianchun, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the Guangxi Forestry Laboratory, as well as other experts and scholars attended the opening ceremony. Vice president of GXU Feng Jiaxun was also invited to attend the conference.

At the conference, the GXU School of Forestry and the School of Resources, Environment and Materials presented the scientific research and technological transformation achievements in the fields of subtropical characteristic tree breeding, efficient cultivation and management of artificial forests, cultivation of precious tree species, agroforestry, green prevention and control of forest pests and diseases, airborne LiDAR monitoring of forest resources, and high-value processing and utilization of wood. More than 500 representatives of teachers and students from our university participated in the volunteer service of this conference.
