The annual progress exchange meeting of the National Natural Science Foundation special project "Policy Modeling and Strategy Research to Support the Dual Carbon Strategy", sponsored by the Department of Science Management of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and undertaken by Guangxi University, was held in Nanning from November 30th to December 1st. Liu Zuoyi, Deputy Director of the Department of Science Management of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Xia Guoen and Xiao Jianzhuang, members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Presidents of Guangxi University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
Liu Zuoyi introduced the specific measures for the reform of the Science Fund and the basic requirements for special project research, and explained the specific methods for talent project reform using the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund project as an example. In terms of special project research, he requested the research team to closely focus on the main theme and intention of the project proposal, and carry out organized scientific research and innovation activities. The expert guidance group and project coordinators should play a guiding, organizing, and coordinating role, and strengthen communication and collaboration between projects.
Xia Guoen welcomed the arrival of the attending experts and scholars. He pointed out that the school should actively respond to the national strategic layout and the development needs of Guangxi, conscientiously implement a series of instructions from the Central Committee, the Party Committee and Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on taking the path of green and low-carbon development, vigorously promote interdisciplinary integration, so as to achieve phased results. He hopes that everyone can gain new ideas through academic exchanges and ideological collisions, and jointly promote the "dual carbon" strategy to a new level.
Xiao Jianzhuang expressed sincere gratitude to the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other institutions for their strong support in the construction and development of Guangxi University. He stated that the Dual Carbon Science and Technology Research Institute of Guangxi University will continue to provide technical, talent support, and decision-making support for achieving "carbon peak and carbon neutrality". He looks forward to experts and scholars providing more scientific guidance to Guangxi University from the perspectives of management science and system science.
In the project reporting stage, project leaders from universities such as Peking University, Wuhan University, Tianjin University, Hunan University, and Guangxi University reported on the main research progress and achievements, the problems and difficulties discovered during the research, the use of project funds, and the next stage research plan.
More than 100 representatives from Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, and East China University of Science and Technology, as well as relevant staff from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, attended the meeting.
