On December 16th, “Civilization Mutual Learning and Silk Road Resonance” ——2024 Guangxi Story Sharing Meeting was held in Guangxi University. This event was jointly hosted by the Department of Publicity of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, the Department of United Front Work of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Radio and Television Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Mo Yantao, Second-level Inspector of the Department of United Front Work of CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, Zhang Xufeng, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Wei Jiang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Xue Shanming, Second-level Inspector of the Radio and Television Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Xiao Jianzhuang, Vice President of Guangxi University, Htun Htun Latt, Consul of Myanmar Consulate General in Nanning, Thipphakesone Philaphandeth, Vice Consul of Consulate General of Laos in Nanning, Farah Eliza, Vice Consul of Consulate General of Malaysia in Nanning attended the meeting. About 300 college students, teachers, international students and representatives from related enterprises and institutions in Nanning participated in the event.
During the sharing meeting, six newly appointed "Guangxi storytellers" told wonderful stories about people to people exchanges, cultural integration, people to people connections, and win-win cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN and the other "the Belt and Road" countries through personal experience.
South African architect Ian Hamilton shared his experience exploring the integration and reshaping of architectural aesthetics in China, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of different cultural elements in architecture.
Shi Rufei, Secretary of the Party Branch and Director of the R&D Department of Heishi Camellia Factory in Liubao Town, Cangwu County, Guangxi, and a representative inheritor of Liubao tea production skills at the autonomous region level, talked about how Liubao tea has gone global through cultural exchanges and become a bridge connecting Guangxi and the world.
Jiang Linfeng, a member of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of China Association for Promotion of Democracy and Vice President of Guangxi Audiovisual Industry Development Association, presented the Guangxi practice of "going global" for animation, demonstrating the vigorous vitality and unlimited potential of Guangxi's cultural industry in the international market.
Wen Ting, Deputy Director of the Thailand Research Institute of the GXU China-ASEAN Institute and a Thai teacher, shared her personal experience to express the "China-Thailand One Family" friendship and showcase the achievements of friendly cooperation in the fields of education and culture between the two countries.
Wang Xiufen, Chief Craftsman of Xiuyunfang Embroidered Ball Culture Co., Ltd. in Jingxi City, Guangxi, member of the Jingxi Municipal Political Consultative Conference, and recipient of the National May Day Labor Medal, talked about how embroidered balls can be revitalized through inheritance and innovation, becoming a cultural bond that conveys friendship to the world in the new era.
Chen Xiangyang, a member of the Yulin Municipal Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of Guangxi Beiliu Zhongli Ceramics Co., Ltd., gave a speech titled "The Overseas Journey of Beiliu Ceramics", describing the wonderful process of Beiliu ceramics selling well worldwide and promoting international cooperation in the industry.
