The latest ESI subject ranking, released by Clarivate on May 9th, has placed two disciplines of our school, Computer Science and Earth Science, within the top 1% globally. Currently, a total of nine disciplines (Engineering, Materials Science, Agricultural Science, Plant and Animal Science, Chemistry, Environment/Ecology, Biology and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth Science) have been in the top 1% worldwide according to ESI rankings.

Furthermore, it vigorously promotes discipline construction to improve quality and upgrade standards. Aligning with national regional development strategy, innovative approaches are adopted to cultivate a team of leading talents while promoting interdisciplinary integration and constructing high-level research platforms. The adaptability of disciplines is optimized to align with national strategic industries through increased scientific research investment and vigorous organization of scientific research activities. These endeavors have yielded remarkable results in discipline construction, expanding their influence significantly. The Essential Science Indicators (ESI) is a comprehensive quantitative analysis database that encompasses over 10 million literature records from more than 12,000 academic journals worldwide, as collected by the Web of Science (SCIE/SSCI). This powerful tool categorizes disciplines into 22 distinct fields and serves as a widely utilized evaluation index for assessing the international academic prowess and influence of universities, academic institutions, countries/regions.
