On April 28, the 11th Third Standing Council Meeting of the Genetics Society of China (GSC) and the Subtropical Biological Genetics Forum, jointly organized by the Chinese Society of Genetics and Guangxi University (GXU), was successfully held at GXU. The event was attended and addressed by Zuo Jianru, Supervisor of GSC and Researcher at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Honghu, Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Association for Science and Technology; and Feng Jiaxun, Vice President of GXU.

Zuo Jianru expressed gratitude to the Guangxi Association for Science and Technology, Guangxi University, and all participants for their strong support. He emphasized that GSC will continue to serve as a bridge, providing a platform for academic exchange among domestic and international scholars, and promoting the integrated development of genetic research and industrial applications in China.
Wang noted that Guangxi, as a subtropical region rich in biological resources, possesses unique advantages in genetic research. He expressed hope that this conference would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen collaboration between Guangxi and the national genetics community, jointly promoting regional scientific innovation and industrial upgrading.
Feng stated that GSC has made significant contributions to the advancement of genetics in China. He expressed hope that the Society would provide further guidance and support for the development of genetics at GXU, helping to clarify its development path, enhance discipline construction, and collectively elevate the overall level of genetics research in Guangxi.
Experts and scholars at the conference presented cutting-edge research achievements in the deep integration of fundamental genetics studies with agricultural breeding practices and medical clinical applications. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including crop genetic improvement, exploration of disease mechanisms in medicine, and biotechnological innovation and application. These exchanges further strengthened interdisciplinary academic collaboration and fostered practical consensus across multiple fields.
Nearly 300 attendees participated in the event, including members of the GSC’s Standing Council and Supervisory Committee, as well as faculty and student representatives from Guangxi University.
