From April 23 to 28, the 2025 National Finswimming Championships were held in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province. Guan Hanzhi, an undergraduate student enrolled in 2023 from the School of Physical Education, Guangxi University, delivered an exceptional performance. Competing in 11 events, he secured an impressive total of 6 gold medals and 5 silver medals, becoming the center of attention at the competition.
Guan Hanzhi first emerged on the international stage in 2023, winning the bronze medal in the Men’s 100m Immersion Finswimming at the Finswimming World Cup Golden Final. At the 2024 National Finswimming Spring Championships, he claimed 5 gold and 1 silver medal. At the 23rd Finswimming World Championships, he won the gold medal in the Men’s 200m Immersion Finswimming with a time of 1:12.86, breaking the world record and becoming the current world record holder in that event. In the 2024 Finswimming World Cup Golden Final, he further secured two gold medals in both the 200m and 400m Immersion Finswimming events.
